Claude's Word, Excel, and PowerPoint extensions are now publicly available, and an extension to run Outlook with Claude has also been released.



Anthropic released extensions for Excel, PowerPoint, and Word that enable automated processing using Claude to the public on May 7, 2026. Simultaneously, an extension for Outlook is now available as a public beta for paid plan subscribers.

Anthropic released beta versions of ' Claude for Excel ' in October 2025, which simplifies Excel operations with Claude; ' Claude for PowerPoint ' in February 2026, an extension for PowerPoint that allows the generation of slides and charts from prompts; and ' Claude for Word ' in April 2026, which allows users to chat with Claude within Word to summarize and revise documents. Claude has released an extension called 'Claude for Word' that allows you to summarize and edit Word documents, completing the set of extensions for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint - GIGAZINE



'Claude for Excel,' 'Claude for PowerPoint,' and 'Claude for Word' were previously available as public beta or research preview to select paying users. On May 7, 2026, they were all released to the public as ' Claude for Microsoft 365 ,' making them available to all paying users.

A new feature in Claude for Microsoft 365 allows Claude to maintain the complete context of conversations across different applications. For example, you can create notes from a file opened in Word, move the data to Excel for analysis, and then create a presentation in PowerPoint based on that analysis—all without having to explain the process to Claude each time. If you adjust the numbers in Excel within these linked files, the numbers in the PowerPoint graph and Word notes will also be automatically updated.

Furthermore, Claude for Outlook has been released as a public beta version for all paying users. By integrating Claude into your inbox, you can categorize emails that require a reply and those that don't, and even automatically create draft replies. It's also possible to open files attached to emails in Word or Excel and continue working while preserving the context of the email.
