Yoshinoya has introduced a 'Superb Beef Bowl' using domestically produced beef, so I tried it. The tender beef with melt-in-your-mouth fat was excellent.

Yoshinoya has started serving its ' Exquisite Beef Bowl ,' made with domestically produced beef coated in sukiyaki sauce and served over rice, since May 7th, 2026. The beef is carefully grilled one slice at a time, resulting in a flavor that fills your mouth with the rich umami of domestic beef. Curious about what it tastes like, I went to Yoshinoya and tried it myself.

Arrived at Yoshinoya.

I'll order the exquisite beef bowl using the touch panel.

You can choose between a 'small' or 'regular' portion of rice. For an additional 55 yen (tax included), you can get a 'large' portion. This time, I chose the regular portion.

The exquisite beef bowl was served about 8 minutes after ordering. It also came with fresh shichimi spice and miso soup.

This is an exquisite beef bowl. It consists of rice topped with beef, green onions, and knotted konjac noodles.

I tried lifting the beef with chopsticks. It's cut into fairly large pieces.

The beef is incredibly tender, and the fat melts in your mouth the moment you take a bite. The sweet, sukiyaki-style seasoning makes it a perfect match for rice.

This is what the fresh shichimi spice topping looks like.

The fresh shichimi spice adds a spicy kick to the sweet beef. The combination of the sweet fat and the fragrant spices is excellent. Sweet beef alone might get boring, but the fresh shichimi allows you to enjoy a change of flavor.

The green onions have a crisp texture. Some people might prefer them a little softer, but this level of crunchiness makes them stand out as an ingredient, which is great.

The knotted shirataki noodles are generously coated in a sweet sauce. The interesting thing is that the green onions and knotted shirataki noodles each have their own distinct flavor, and the meat, green onions, and knotted shirataki noodles all stand on their own as main ingredients, making this a very high-quality dish.

The price of the exquisite beef bowl is 1207 yen (tax included) for dine-in and 1185 yen (tax included) for takeout, although prices may vary at some locations. It is available in limited quantities and will be sold out once supplies run out, so if you're interested, be sure to go and try it soon.

Incidentally, Yoshinoya's beef bowls and pork bowls are also sold as frozen foods, and you can get a set of 10 bags (5 types x 2 bags) on Amazon.co.jp for 3,996 yen (tax included).
