As the adoption of AI accelerates and infrastructure becomes more complex and diverse, this collaboration aims to improve performance, energy efficiency, and total cost of ownership by integrating multiple generations of Intel Xeon processors with Google's global infrastructure.
Furthermore, Intel and Google have jointly developed the ' Intel IPU ASIC E2000, ' a custom ASIC-based data processing unit (IPU) , and they aim to further expand this collaboration to improve utilization, increase efficiency, and achieve more predictable performance in hyperscale AI environments.

Intel CEO Rip Bhu Tan stated, 'AI is fundamentally changing the way we build and scale infrastructure. Scaling AI requires more than just accelerators; it demands a balanced system. CPUs and IPUs play a central role in delivering the performance, efficiency, and flexibility that modern AI workloads demand.'
Amin Vardat, Google's Senior Vice President and Chief Technologist for AI Infrastructure, said, 'Faster CPUs and infrastructure continue to be the foundation of AI systems, from training orchestration to inference and deployment. Intel has been a trusted partner for nearly 20 years, and we are confident that Intel's Xeon roadmap will continue to meet the increasing performance and efficiency demands of workloads.'
Intel and Google's expanded partnership reflects their shared commitment to driving open and scalable infrastructure for the AI era. The two companies will work together to strengthen the foundation for next-generation AI-driven cloud services and support continuous innovation for businesses, developers, and users worldwide.
