Valve releases beta version of Steam Link for Apple Vision Pro

Steam, the PC gaming platform, has announced the release of a beta version of Steam Link for Apple Vision Pro. Steam Link is Steam's official remote play app, which allows users to play games remotely from smartphones or lower-spec PCs by offloading the rendering of games to a high-spec PC.

Sam Lantinga , an employee of Valve, the developer and operator of Steam, has announced a native Steam Link app for Apple Vision Pro. The Steam Link app is in beta at the time of writing, but it can be installed via TestFlight.

The Apple Vision Pro version of Steam Link does not support VR titles, at least as of the time of writing; it only supports streaming 2D games from a Mac or PC.

However, Apple-related media outlet 9to5Mac reports that 'given that the Apple Vision Pro is an excellent platform for viewing 2D video content, being able to play your favorite games on the Apple Vision Pro's large screen via Steam Link is a significant advantage.'

Steam Link is available for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV, and has already been reviewed by GIGAZINE.
