On the Galaxy S26, you can say 'Hey Plex' to launch Perplexity's AI assistant.

Like 'Hey Siri' or 'OK Google,' on Samsung's Galaxy S26 series, you can launch Perplexity's AI assistant by saying 'Hey Plex.'

According to Perplexity, the AI assistant can be launched by saying 'Hey Plex' or by long-pressing the side button. It's integrated at the system level and preloaded, so no downloads or setup are required. Perplexity can read and write directly to Samsung's core apps, allowing it to do the following:

Ask questions and get answers with references without opening a browser
Save information from Perplexity answers directly to Samsung Notes
- Set reminders and add events to your calendar with a single conversation
- Search for various topics without leaving the Samsung app you're using

The Galaxy series also includes Samsung's AI assistant, Bixby, which uses Perplexity's API as its search and inference backend.

The API combines real-time web search with inference from large-scale language models, allowing Bixby to provide evidence-based, up-to-date answers without relying solely on static training data.

Perplexity's API is also planned to be integrated into browsers, allowing users to set Perplexity as their default search engine.
