'Ikaruga' on Tokyo Ramen Street looks like this, with its seafood and pork bone broth and huge bamboo shoots.

There are many restaurants in the basement of Tokyo Station, making it convenient for waiting for trains or bullet trains. I tried ramen at ' Ikaruga ' on

Ikaruga is located in Tokyo Ramen Street, underground at Tokyo Station.
Tokyo Ramen Street is home to 10 ramen shops, where you can enjoy a wide variety of flavors, including Iekei and Tonkotsu. This time, I was in the mood for seafood Tonkotsu, so I chose Ikaruga.

First, buy a meal ticket.

I ordered the Super Rich Tokyo Station Ramen (1,350 yen including tax) and Grilled Meat Rice (570 yen including tax). Please note that the prices and presentation are current as of February 8, 2026.

This is the super rich Tokyo Station Ramen, topped with a halved boiled egg, roasted pork fillet, narutomaki (simmered naruto roll), bamboo shoots, and nori seaweed.

The pork bone and seafood soup has a rich flavor with floating back fat. The flavors of bonito flakes and mackerel flakes are just as strong as the pork bone, and just one sip hits you with a powerful, rich flavor. Like Sapporo ramen, the oil acts as a lid to seal in the heat, so the soup was piping hot even though there was no steam rising.

The noodles are straight and the soup clings to them well, making for a satisfying meal.

The char siu pork was rolled pork belly sliced into rounds and stewed until tender.

The bamboo shoots in this ramen were clearly larger than those in regular ramen. The crunchy texture added a nice accent to the ramen. The pork bone and back fat flavors were strong, but the seafood broth was especially strong, and the umami of the seafood lingered in my mouth for a while after I finished eating.

The grilled meat rice comes with a soft-boiled egg.

The rice is topped with grilled meat, green onions, and seaweed, and is drizzled with a spicy seasoning containing garlic flakes, similar to edible chili oil.

The meat is grilled with a sweet sauce, which, combined with the spicy seasonings, creates an overall sweet and spicy flavor. The strong garlic punch makes this a richly flavored side dish.

If you crack a soft-boiled egg and mix the yolk in, the flavor will be milder.
