I made a New Year's Eve soba called 'Large Crab Kama Soba' with crab extract.

'I want to eat a lot of crab sticks,' I thought absentmindedly as I was about to buy ingredients for New Year's Eve soba noodles at the supermarket, when I discovered something unbelievable. What is this? What exactly is 'large crab sticks'...? When I actually picked it up and held it, it was heavy! Depending on the supermarket, it ranges in price from 900 yen to 500 yen.

Of course, I got it at a supermarket in the 500 yen range. Its official name is Yamasa Kamaboko '

Omotenashi Kanikama Omori ' and upon further research, I found out that it is a limited edition product sold at the end of the year that has even won the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award . No wonder I don't see it on a regular basis.

So, let's make toshikoshi soba noodles. This time, we'll use 80% soba noodles. If it's 100% soba noodles, it will be too dry, and if it's 50% soba noodles, it won't feel special! So, we decided on 80% soba noodles.

When I looked at the back of the extra-large crab sticks, I confirmed that, unlike other crab sticks, they actually contain crab extract.

Compared to the Kanetetsu ' Almost Three Great Crab Tasting Set ' I bought for comparison. It's too big.

Compared to the iPhone 12. It's even bigger than the iPhone. That's crazy.

Heat the dashi.

Boil the soba noodles in boiling water for about 3 minutes.

Put it into a pre-heated bowl, sprinkle with chopped green onions, and it's done! It turned out to be a more beautiful looking New Year's Eve soba than I expected.

Even at my parents' house, people say things like, 'It's so filling!' and 'It's more filling than it looks, I can't eat anything else!' It's an extremely satisfying and filling New Year's Eve soba that's great value for money, so I highly recommend it.
