In 2020, management was transferred from Mozilla Research to the Linux Foundation, and in 2023 it came under the jurisdiction of Linux Foundation Europe.

In the short term, Servo aims to transition from an R&D project to a production-grade rendering engine by providing a stable API, improving user interaction features, and fostering an active community that will contribute to the growth of the project.
Our long-term vision is to be the leading embeddable rendering engine powering innovative applications and frameworks, delivering unparalleled performance, stability and compliance with the latest web standards.
It is developed in Rust for 64-bit macOS, Linux, Windows, OpenHarmony, and Android.
The released version 0.0.1 is essentially the same nightly build that was previously available, but with additional manual testing and an explicit version number for future reference.
According to Servo, they plan to release tagged releases like this every month.
These releases will not be published on the Rust package repository crates.io or in platform-specific app stores; they will only be published on GitHub.
