The body comes in five colors: lavender, mist blue, black, white, and sage.

The display has become 6.3 inches thanks to the thinner bezels.

It also uses the same ProMotion display as the Pro model.

The adaptive refresh rate is up to 120Hz, dropping to 1Hz when in always-on mode.

The display has a peak outdoor brightness of 3000 nits.

The front glass covering the display is made of Ceramic Shield 2, which is said to be three times more scratch-resistant than the previous generation.

Ceramic Shield 2 glass features a new Apple-designed coating that is bonded to the Ceramic Shield 2 glass at the atomic level.

The chip used in the iPhone 17 is the A19, an in-house designed SoC using 3nm technology.

It features a new display engine that powers ProMotion and the always-on display, and is equipped with a 16-core Neural Engine, which is also used in Apple Intelligence.

The CPU has six cores: two high-performance cores and four high-efficiency cores.

There are five GPU cores.

GPU performance is improved over the previous generation.

Apple Intelligence enables AI to recognize what's displayed on your device screen and enables live translation during phone calls, FaceTime, and Messages.

Privacy is also important.

The battery is said to last all day.

Video playback time has increased by up to 8 hours.

It can be charged up to 50% in 20 minutes.

The rear camera is a 48MP Fusion main camera with 2x optical telephoto and a 48MP Fusion ultra-wide-angle camera.

It can capture everything from detailed macro photos to expressive scenes from unique angles.

According to Apple, iPhone users worldwide will have taken more than 500 billion selfies in 2024.

So what has been announced this time is a new center frame front camera.

The new front camera has the widest field of view of any iPhone.

The front camera sensor is twice the size of the previous generation and is the first ever to feature a square sensor.

Previously, the sensor's aspect ratio was 4:3, limiting you to portrait orientation, but the square sensor means you can take high-resolution photos and videos in either portrait or landscape orientation, so you can take landscape selfies without having to rotate your iPhone.

The front camera's viewing angle is automatically widened using AI technology.

By applying the same technology used in the rear camera's Action mode, ultra-stabilized image stabilization is always applied to selfie videos taken while moving.

The front selfie camera is a center-frame camera, so your face stays in the frame at all times.

This is the iPhone 17. There are two storage options: 256GB and 512GB. The 256GB model costs 129,800 yen (tax included), and the 512GB model costs 164,800 yen (tax included). Reservations will begin on Friday, September 12, 2025, and the model will be released on Friday, September 19, 2025.
