◆A sneak peek of the main story! “It’s a gas shop!!” Episode 8 synopsis
Kiyu became a gas dealer in his first year as a new graduate, and just a few months after joining the company, he was assigned the responsibility of planning the ``Gas Exhibition,'' a major event to be held in the fall. Since Kiyu is a newcomer, he has no experience or ideas, so he has no choice but to try his best and struggle.
In episode 8, the company president takes Kiyu out on a new job in order to change her mood and experience a new experience after she was stuck with the project. The president's specialty is 'renovation.'
Kiyu learns new things with experts at the land where the renovation project is taking place. Let's take a closer look at one of the technical terms that are thrown around.
Then, in the afternoon of the same day, Kiyu and Arika-senpai go to an information session about the ``Gas Exhibition''. We decided to solidify our plans by taking into account the venue, which was larger than we had imagined, and the program for the day.
In front of Kiyu, Mitsuki Sumasaki, the daughter of a certain gas company president, appears. At the gas exhibition held the previous year, the 'Triple Crown Queen' won first place in three categories: attracting customers to events, selling gas equipment, and surveying customers.
Mitsuki is one year older than Kiyu. In other words, he won the Triple Crown when he was a rookie, just like Kiyu now. Mitsuki makes further suggestions to Kiyu, who can no longer make excuses for being a newcomer, and Kiyu's challenges surrounding the gas exhibition further accelerate.

◆Member-only materials Until the creation of the new character “Mitsuki”
Mitsuki, a new character, appeared in episode 8 as a big 'wall' for Kiyu. She is one year older than Kiyu and is a talented young lady who won the title of ``Queen'' at the gas exhibition held the previous year. There was a lot of trial and error until Mitsuki's character was solidified, so I looked back at the production process that led to her creation.
The illustration below is a character that was Mitsuki's original idea for ``the daughter of a company president in the same industry'' during production preparation. The only thing that had been decided was that the daughter of the president of another company would be involved in the planning of the gas exhibition, so the design was based on that image.
In the initial name for episode 8, Mitsuki's design looked like the serialized version. However, their personalities and atmospheres are very different. When Kiyu bumps into him and gets splashed with water, he makes harsh comments like, ``When did this place become a playground for children?'' and ``Don't you have a low sense of social responsibility?''
When Kiyu greets her again by handing out her business card, she quickly replies, ``I don't accept business cards that are half-sized.'' In this way, she was portrayed as a character that was quite ``a bossy and cold young lady.''
Kiyu, who was struck by Mitsuki's attitude, fought back, and a confrontation between the two was established. The reason for this change was not that Mitsuki's personality was the problem, but that Kiyu was at fault for looking away and throwing water on her in the first place, but in the end she seems to be getting angry.
So, in the second draft, we ended up looking at each other, bumping into each other, and pouring the drinks we had on each other.
The structure of ``Kiyu and Mitsuki's conflict'' was an idea put forth by the head of the gas union as a project to settle the situation. Also, as you can see in the scene below, Mitsuki's personality has changed from a 'cold young lady' to a 'clever young lady.' Although the development has changed further, Mitsuki's character and behavior in the main story are inherited from the second draft. In the end, Mitsuki shows even more cleverness, so please watch the main story to see how it turned out.
